28-Jul-2019
Yellowstone Grand Canyon & Mud Valcano
Yellowstone National Park

- Morning: Yellowstone Grand Canyon and Yellowstone Falls

- Afternoon: Stopped for lunch on the Education Center front porch.

- Stopped at Mud Valcano Area.

- Saw lots of wild life while driving

Today was great for catching the native wild life. Often this is very time consuming as on several ocasions the wild life were actually either on the road or easily viewable from the road. Normally this occures where there is no urn-off to allow the traffic to stop without blocking the road. When this occures the wait time may be as much as 1 hour. At times after waiting if the wild life was on the road or clows we would find that they were no longer viewable. If they were in a field we were then lucly and were alble to get some good shots.

Mud Volcano Area
Sour Lake

Sour lake is named for its acidic or "sour" water. This may look like a swimming hold, but its water would burn skin like battery acid. Most of its acid comes from microorganisms that create sulfuric acid as they consume sulfer from the water. These microorganiism also give he lake its color.
