Muhlenberg's Brigade is the site of the encampment of troops led by Brigadier General Peter
Muhlenberg during the winter of 1777-78.
|

To stave off the cold during the harsh winter,
Washington's men built hundreds crude huts to serve as temporary barracks.
Twelve men were assigned to each hut.

The United States National Memorial Arch was erected in the early part of the
20th century to commemorate the arrival and the sacrifices of General George Washington and
the Continental Army at Valley Forge during the American Revolution.

The Anthony Wayne Monument, Brigadier General Wayne, on horseback, emphasizing his role in the military.
The north side of the pedestal lists the many roles that Wayne filled during his lifetime.

Arriving at Washington's Headquarters we parked at the top of the hill and found this
serpentine walkway going down to the Valley Forge Station.
|

After viewing the area around the Headquarters we then had to return UP the serpentine
walkway. (A steep road is also provided to insure access for all.)

Washington's Headquarters is the structure used by General George Washington and his household during the 1777-1778 encampment of the Continental Army at Valley Forge.
|

The building could be considered the "Pentagon" of its time, as it is was the place where Washington and his highest-ranking officers worked and lived during the encampment.
|
|

4 crude huts were build to house the security troups for George Washington.
