Narrow streets and narrower sidwalks.	Now we start UP !

At last we can see water on the other side as the street starts back down.	Now it is steep going down..

The Castillo included a Moat as an layer of it's defense.	Anyone entering was sure to be killed by the men on the walls all around them.

Main entrance	Main Plaza

The fort dominates the entrance to Port San Juan.	This low area was designed to allow the guns to shoot directly into invading ships.

This is the access ramp for the low area of the fort.	One of the sleeping quarters for the men within the fort.

The lighthouse is one of the most recent upgrades to this fort. built in the early 1900's.

This ramp provided acess to the upper levels of the fort.	The upper level's view and power of the guns insured that no unwanted ships could enter the port.
