28-Apr-2023 / Portree (Isle of Skye), Scotland |

Portree is a accessed by tenders. This means that the Zuiderdam will anchor or maintain a location outside the harbor entrance.
The the tenders are lowered from the Zuiderdam and we are loaded into the tenders and the tender then goes into the dock.
Look at the Itinerary Page to see which ports needed to use tenders. The tender ride is about 20-30 min.

Now that we are on the island we found that everything that we wanted to see was UP.

There are the steps. Remember that ever step up will mean a step down will be needed later.

What luck, there was a bench to rest after reaching the top.

We had seen a tower on the top. We were told access is by a path starting here.

We found the path behind the church. It was durt and continued up, but it did hav a good railing.

It looked like we had some distance to go UP.

The path was going around a rock face.

The path had some very good views. The previous section on tenders was taken from the path..

Finally! We got to the tower.

When we looked inside there was a set of very tight circular stairs.

Peaches went to the top and enjoyed the view.

Peaches was happy that she had completed the task that we had started.

Looking into the rest of the park.

One last photo before we started back down.

On the way back to the dock we noticed this sign.
We discovered that we used the long hard path to get up to the tower. So it was much easier comming down on the paved path.
