In July of 1965, the Church was destroyed by a fire. The great tower and spire, which survived the fire, now stands alongside the Church.
A new, more modern structure using granite stone from the old Church was built on the original site and opened on October 7, 1973.

We easily located the Church and as we approached we notice that the Congregation was just starting to leave.

The Congregation was very friendly and we talked for some time with several of the people still present.
