- 1886 Sarah Wincheste purchased a farmhouse near San Jose.
- 1890 to 1922 Sarah renovated this to a Victorian Mansion that she named Llanda Villa.
- 1930's this became known as the Winchester Mystery House due the the many excentric features that Sarah had built in the house.
