On 29- May-2025 we took the Hop-On Hop-Off the the nearest stop for Park Guell.


Park Guell History

      - 1900 - In October, Gaudi was assigned to draw plans for an estate for well-off
            families in the area of Muntanya Pelada.

      - 1904 - By only 1 home had been built and Gaudi purchashed this home.

      - 1906 - Guadi moved in with his family.

      - 1914 - The project was abandoned because only two homes had been build on the
            61 available sites in Park Guell.

      - 1922 - On 26-May-1922 the City Council purchased Park Guell.

      - 1926 - the City opened Park Guell as a city park.

We walked up the hill toward the park and stopped for lunch a small local resturant.

Looking down the hill we can see the spires of two buildings in Park Guell, Austria Gardens area.

Just a little closer we see the The Greek Theater Main Terrace in the Austria Gardens area.  Note the undulating, mosaic covered benches.

We left Park Guell by going out the main gate at the bottom of the hill. This park was GREAT and and if you are in Barcelona do not miss it.
