4-Jul-2019 - Glacier National Park

Yesterday we went the the Western Vistors Center and obtained information about the Park. It appeared that we definitely wanted to cross the park on the "Going-to-the-Sun Road". It only opened several days earlier.
Due to the sharp dropoffs with no sholder on the road, driving was not an option for me.
There is a good alternate, a free shuttle bus. By starting early we could cross the park on the express shuttle bus and then return stopping at manyy of the overlooks on the way back

Today we started at the Western Visitors center at 7:30 am on the express shuttle that went to the Logan Pass, the highest point on the road. Here we got off and enjoyes some of the view. Next we took the Shttle to the Eastrn Visitors Center. There we viewed their movie about the park. Then we were ready to return to the shuttle system to see more of the park.

We wanted to hike the 1.5 mile trail to Hidden Lake.
We ere told there was some ice on the trail.
about 1/8 mi out this is what we found.
We decided to not walk the trail further.
We saw that some of the people planning to walk the trail
were installing CHAINS on their shoes.
