Callaway Plantation - Washington, GA

The Callaway Plantation ia owned by the city of Washington,GA.
It has been restored to represent the origional plantation.

This Log Cabin represents 1st home for the Callaways

The origional cabin burned and a similar cabin has been place here to show the history.

One room on the lower floor.

The steps go to an area under the roof used for the children to sleep.

The log cabin was used as the kitchen for the gray house.

1790 Callaway Home

The Callaway Plantation was very successful so they build a new much larger home.

The Gray house had 2 rooms on the 1st floor and 2 rooms on the 2nd.

1st floor Dinning Room, there was no kitchen.The old Log Cabin was used for the kitchen.

1st floor Family Room was also the parents bedroom.

2nd floor Bed Room One.

2nd floor Bed Room Two.
