In port but no passengers are allowed off the Zuiderdam

The Captain has decided that it is not safe for us to enter Dakar due to unrest in Dakar.

When we got up this morning we found that the City of Dakar is not a safe place to be roaming around right now.
They have an election coming up in February and there is a lot of unrest and the youth are demonstrating in the streets.

The Captain has been waiting at the dock for 8 containers of food and important supplies before leaving the port

Goree Island is located just outside of the Dakar Harbor. This island was used to ship slaves from Afirca.
