  - 6:30 am Morning Ballon Glow
  - 7:00 am Morning Ballon Mass Ascension
  - 7:00 am, 2nd balloon weather check.
       With low clouds the Mass Ascension was delayed.
  - 8:00 am, Light fog rolled in, the Mass Ascension was cancelled.
  - 9:30 am Walked around Balloon Fiesta Park
  - 6:00 pm Twilight Twinkle


7:15 am, Weather delay so this balloon waited around in the air.

Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta

Clear sky and low wind
GREEN flag for todays morning events.

- 7:00 am, Mass Ascension
- 6:00 pm, Balloon Glow


By 7:30 I could see over 200 balloons in the air.
The Mass Ascension continued until about 9:30 when the last balloon was in the air.

Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta & Tour

- 9:00 am Walked around Balloon Fiesta Park.
- 9:30 am Watched the Fly-in competition finish.
- 2:00 pm Albuquerque Trolly Tour

 

Fly-in compeition events proceed as follows:

1. Balloons are launched at least 1 mile from the target area.
2. Ballons then fly to the target area.
3. Balloons approach the target at a low altitude.
4. The balloon drops their marker as close to the target as possible.
5. The balloon then must land in the desiganted landing are without touching the ground until entering the landing area.

Fly-in entry seen low over target.
Marker is dropped asclose to the target as possible.
At times multiple entries arrive together.
At times the target area can bet very busy.
After dropping their marker they must land and pack-up quickly.
Volunteers are available to assist the balloon crews and help the visitors.
Even a few special shaped balloons participate in the fly-in.
