Lake Lure, North Carloina Visit

Chimney Rock, NC
Chimney Rock State Park is proud to have been one of the filming locations for the famous movie "Last of the Mohicans". The iconic backdrop was shown in the last 20 minutes of the movie! The waterfall scene, the fight scene and bathing scene were all filmed at Chimney Rock State Park! If you are in the area be sure to stop in at Chimney Rock State Park, where you can stand at the base of the famous Hickory Nut Falls, the waterfall in the movie!

Lake Lure from Rambling Bald
In 2018 the stream in the center of this photo flooded and caused considerable damage.
- The several bridges were washed out preventing access from the area on the left of the creek to the area on the right of the creek.
- On the right side the walkway along the creek was undermined and is not uasble.
- The pedistrian bridge, previously locted over the pipe crossing the stream, was wash out preventing pedistrian access to the area on the right.
- The road connecting the two sides of the creek, not shown, was washed out preventing normal road access to the area on the right.
- The alternate access road to the area on the right also had the bridge washed out.
This damage made access to the recreation area, right side of the creak, impossible. Since the flood the bridge on the alternate access road has been replaced and is a round about path to these facilities.

- Zip Line - 4 Zip Line tours and other sky activities.
- Climbing - Climbing Wall, Spire, & Bolders.
- Many other areas such as Resturants, Pavilions, Outfitters, and River Jam Stage.
